It's Winter Holidays Week!

Hi, girls! This is a special week for girls everywhere—it’s Winter Holidays Week! The Winter Holidays begin tomorrow, December 21st, with the celebration of Solstice – the shortest day of the year. At sundown on the 21st, Hanukkah begins. Wednesday and Thursday bring us Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and Kwanzaa begins on Friday. That’s a lot of celebrating!
We’ll be celebrating at New Moon Girls all this week. Check out “A Present for Frances,” in which Hannah is nervous about a Christmas writing assignment because she celebrates Hanukkah. Then read NMG.com member Basia’s fictional piece about picking out the perfect Christmas tree. Are you in the giving spirit? Then make sure to read It’s Better to Light a Candle, an article about how two girls’ holiday candle-making turned into a way to raise money for charity!
So, how much DO you know about the holidays happening this week? To find out, take our holiday quiz! And don’t forget to share YOUR stories about the holidays by submitting them to the Spotlight hub all this week. I can’t wait to celebrate with you!
Love,
Luna
