Book Review: Hoofbeats, Katie and the mustang
this book takes place in 1847, Scott county, Iowa. Katie Rose, a 9 year old girl was orphaned because a fever went through her home town about 3 years ago and since then she has been living on the Stevevses farm, working like a slave and in her little spare time she daydreams of getting a letter back from her uncle telling her to go meet him in the west. but one day Mr.Stevens brings back a Mustang, a lovely untamed animal, and Katie find herself trying to earn his trust. soon enough, she and the mustang have a strong bond. but when they plan to go west, everything changes. Katie wants to go and find her uncle, but when she hears they are leaving her at a orpan home and shoot the horse, she doesent know what to do. i give this book *****out of*****stars. this book is by Kathleen Duey. this book report is by Kylie
